Similar to the 'freshman 15', you may start hearing about the 'COVID 19 #' which refers to the close to 20 pounds that many of us may gain during this time of social distancing and home confinement. Routines are broken and we can fall into bad habits. We will be posting tips on how to help you avoid the COVID19#!
DR PARASKOS' TIPS ON GETTING STARTED WITH EXERCISE
Sleep in your workout clothes, it will give you one less excuse to get exercising!
Start small (you can do anything for 10 minutes!). Start with 10 minutes, and slowly increase your time.
Get creative. Gyms are closed, so we have to head outdoors or get creative inside our homes. Go for a walk, bike ride or swim. Put on music and dance in your house! Get a weighted hula hoop! Alternate push ups, chair dips, lunges and squats in your house (do it during commercials!) - calisthenic exercises are great and do not require extra equipment.
